When Ripley's lifepod is discovered by a salvage team over 50 years later, she finds that terra-formers are on the very planet they discovered the alien species. When the corporate sends a family of colonists out to check out her story, all touch is misplaced with the planet and colonists. They enlist Ripley and the colonial marines to return and seek for answers.
